About Cindy
Cindy Motley’s artistic journey began in two very different worlds—painting children’s beach portraits and handcrafting large, intricately appliquéd quilts. For years she stitched thousands of individual pieces of fabric together entirely by hand while capturing the personalities of children through portraiture.
Everything changed the day she completed three paintings that unexpectedly united those two disciplines. She realized that the patterns, symbolism, storytelling, and portraiture she had spent years developing had naturally merged into a visual language that was uniquely her own.
At the heart of every painting is a ribbon that gently meanders throughout the composition. It symbolizes the invisible connections that unite us—love, family, friendship, memory, kindness, and our shared human experience. This idea became the foundation of the Ribbon of Love Collection.
Each painting is layered with individually painted details, symbolic imagery, and carefully composed patterns that invite viewers to slow down and discover something new with every visit. Joyful and imaginative, her paintings celebrate connection while bringing warmth, wonder, and conversation into extraordinary interiors.
Through every painting, Cindy’s goal is simple—to inspire joy.
